Brown Technology Partnerships (BTP) exists to fulfill a number of interlocking and mutually
dependent activities associated with the commercialization of intellectual property created by
faculty and students at Brown, at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA, and at the
Women and Infants Hospital of Rhode Island.

The responsiblities of the Division of Industrial Research and Technology Transfer are to
attract research funding from the private sector, to promote and stimulate the transfer of
technology developed by University faculty to private industry, and to assist faculty in seeking
the commercial development of products and processes resulting from University research.
